Opening Ceremony of the 2nd International Business Olympiad Bangladesh 2024

The opening ceremony of the 2nd International Business Olympiad Bangladesh 2024 organized by Business Genius Bangladesh and sponsored by University of South Asia (USA) was on held on June 07, 2024 at University of South Asia, Amin Bazar, Savar, Dhaka-1348.

The opening ceremony was chaired by Prof. Dr. M. A. Wadud Mondal, Vice Chancellor, University of South Asia, who led the proceedings with a cake-cutting ceremony, symbolizing the official start of the Olympiad and set a tone of enthusiasm and excellence. He highlighted the importance of such platforms in nurturing future business leaders and fostering international collaboration. The Chief Guest, Mohammad Nizam Uddin Jitu, Chairman of the Standing Committee on International Trade Fair and Foreign Delegation, FBCCI, and notable business figure, emphasized the critical role of youth in driving economic growth and innovation. He encouraged participants to leverage the opportunities presented by the Olympiad to enhance their business acumen and entrepreneurial skills.

International Celebrity Chef Jahida Begum, Manager and Head of Food & Beverage Production at NHTTI, Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, was present as the Guest of Honor. Professor Irshad Ahmed Shaheen, Dean, School of Arts and Culture, University of South Asia; Associate Professor M. Abdullah Al Mamun, Chief Adviser, Business Genius Bangladesh (BGB) & Federation of Hospitality, Tourism & Event Management (FoHTEM) and Dean, South Asia School of Business, University of South Asia; Ms. Shahnaz Islam, Owner of ICAB and President of Nokkhotro Nari Songothon; Mr. M A Nahiyan, Head of Sales & Marketing, Central Inn Hotel and Chairman of FoHTEM, BDW, and BGB; Mr. Al Mamun Rasel, Advocate, Bangladesh Supreme Court; and Mr. Rakin Absar, a famous content creator were present as the special guests at the opening ceremony.

The event featured a series of engaging activities including workshops, career planning seminars, quiz contests, game shows, business idea presentations, video resume competitions, debates, and a squid game show. Cultural contests, cooking competitions, and meet-and-greet sessions with celebrities provided a holistic experience for the participants. The Central Inn Hotel, Motijheel, Dhaka presented the event in association with Federation of Hospitality, Tourism & Event Management (FoHTEM) and Bangladesh Debate Warriors (BDW), while South Asia Business Club (SABC) was the club partner.
